The Pinheiro Lab is looking for a motivated scientist to join our team as a Research Assistant to support our research on the molecular and biophysical mechanisms of human gastrulation (https://www.imp.ac.at/groups/diana-pinheiro). The initial contract will be for, at least, 20h/week for 1-year (with the possibility of extension).

We are looking for a candidate who will support us with developing novel genetic tools, establishing cell lines and contribute to ongoing projects.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a scientist with the following qualifications and skills:

  • PhD or Master's degree with relevant laboratory experience of  at least 1.5 years is required

  • Experienced with tissue culture and cell line engineering (ideally w/stem cells, but not a requirement)

  • Strong background in molecular biology techniques, including cloning

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Proficiency in flow cytometry and some experience with large-scale screens (e.g., CRISPR or small-molecule screens) are an advantage, but not a requirement.

What We Offer

  • We offer a young, dynamic, international work environment and a chance to make an important contribution to basic biomedical research. The contract will initially be limited to one year, with the possibility of extension.

  • The position will be fully funded (20 hrs/week) and the salary based on your education and level of relevant work experience, starting from EUR 1,264 (gross per month, 14 times per year).
